All Abilities

Every ability in Bite by Night for both Killers and Survivors. Each character has unique abilities that define their playstyle.

Killer Abilities

Springtrap

Swing

Primary melee — damage varies by axe state

Standard melee attack. Deals 34 damage with axe equipped, 28 damage with fists.

Remnant Cleaver

Ranged — bleed + slow (axe state only)

Throws a heavy axe that deals 20 base damage and applies bleed and slow effects. Bleed deals an additional 15 damage over time. Axe-only ability.

Beartrap

Trap — knockdown + 8s stun (axe state only); self-retrieval in 3.5s

Places a bear trap that takes ~1.5 seconds to arm. Survivors who step on it are knocked down, stunned for ~8 seconds, and take 15 damage. Axe-only ability. April 12 update: Springtrap can now pick up his own traps using a 3.5-second animation.

Scream

AoE reveal + blind + deafness + stamina restore (no-axe state)

Lets out a terrifying scream that reveals all survivors and applies blindness and deafness. Restores 25 stamina to Springtrap. Available without axe.

Charge

Sprint grab — 40% current HP damage (no-axe state)

Gains a speed burst and can grab a survivor on contact, dealing 40% of their current HP as damage and knocking them down for ~2 seconds. Available without axe.

The Mimic

Mode Switch

Three modes: Strength / Speed / Stealth — each with unique stats and abilities

Switches between three modes: Strength (high damage, 40 damage swing), Speed (faster movement, unlocks Leap at the cost of swing damage and increased stamina drain), and Stealth (reduced visibility). Each mode changes stats and available abilities. Cooldown: 0.1s without switching, 5s after switching. Source: Fandom Wiki The_Project.

Drill

Underground movement + emerge 32 damage + ragdoll (45s CD, 13-stud radius)

Drills underground, becoming invisible and mobile beneath the surface, then emerges dealing up to 32 damage and ragdolling nearby survivors. Damage falls off with distance from emerge point. Costs stamina whether or not it hits. Cooldown: 45 seconds after use; available 5 seconds after switching modes. Hitbox: 13 studs radius (nerfed 15→10 on April 7, buffed back to 13 on April 12). Grab

Capture mechanic — requires teammate rescue

A grab attack that captures a survivor, temporarily incapacitating them. Teammates must rescue grabbed survivors.

Ennard

Skin Stealer

Disguise as eliminated survivor — 25 AoE burst on reveal

When a survivor is eliminated, Ennard can adopt their physical avatar, nametag, and visual profile. The disguise violently shakes before bursting, dealing 25 AoE damage and ragdolling nearby survivors.

Grab

Ranged wire pull + 0.3s stun (hitbox 4); aimable as of April 12

Winds up arm and extends a wire in a straight line (hitbox size 4). If it connects with a survivor, they are dragged toward Ennard into melee range, stunned for 0.3 seconds, then released. April 12 update: Grab is now aimable.

Wire Eyes

Tracking + reveal + blind + slow (15s CD)

Drills into chest and releases two Wire Eyes that slowly wander the area. They latch onto nearby survivors, revealing their location to Ennard and applying blindness, slow, and periodic damage. Survivors must shake their camera to remove them. 15-second cooldown.

Wirething

Explosive tracking device — proximity detonation

Releases a tracking device from knee that follows survivors and explodes on contact. Survivors must shake their screen to remove the tracker before the bar fills.

Survivor Abilities

Customer(Survivalist)

Adrenaline Rush

Speed boost → slow debuff on expiry

Temporary speed boost. When the effect expires, the Customer suffers a brief movement speed penalty.

Self-Heal

HP recovery (self only) — increased slow debuff on use (post April 12)

Restores a portion of lost health. Can be used while moving. April 12 update: using Self-Heal now applies a more significant movement speed reduction during and after the heal. Source: Official Discord #update-log huu [KSA] 2026-04-12.

Fighter(Stunner)

Swing

Blindness + Deafness on killer (post April 7 buff); enhanced by Parry Charge stacks

Swings the fire axe at the killer. On hit, interrupts the killer's current action and applies Blindness and Deafness (Deafness added in April 7 update; Blindness duration also increased). Parry

Block close-range attack: 1.5s killer stun + Charge stack for Swing; miss = 2s Weakness; hitbox enlarged Apr 27

Press E to block an incoming close-range killer attack. Success: stuns the killer for 1.5 seconds and grants a Charge stack (enhances Swing). Miss: applies 2 seconds of Weakness to the Fighter. Only works against close-range attacks — does not block ranged abilities (e.g., The Rotten's axe throw). April 27 2026: Parry hitbox enlarged (bigger window to land successful parry). Medic(Healer)

Medical Kit

HP restoration (allies and self)

Deploys a medical kit to heal a targeted teammate or self. Multiple uses per round.

Overheal

Bonus HP above cap (temporary, max +15 post April 12)

When healing a target already at full health, stacks additional HP above the base cap. Decays slowly. Post April 12: overheal capped at +15 HP maximum. Source: Official Discord #update-log huu [KSA] 2026-04-12.

Security Guard(Support)

Taser

Stun at red charge minimum + movement slow (post April 12)

Fires a taser shot at the killer. At default charge, applies 0.1s stun (April 7). Post April 12: stun now only triggers at red charge minimum. Taser cooldown 20s (increased from 15s). Diminishing returns apply when 3+ Security Guards are present (20% reduction per SG above 2, capped at 60%). Stun counts toward Scrap earnings. Security Cameras

Map-wide killer tracking (stationary)

Uses a tablet to access cameras throughout the map. While viewing, the Security Guard is stationary and vulnerable.

Technician(Engineer)

Mask On (V.A.N.N.I. Mask)

Enables Phase, disables Static Mirage; mask removable; 45s max CD (post May 12)

Press Q to equip the V.A.N.N.I. mask, entering first-person view. While active, nearby phaseable obstacles are highlighted. Unlocks the Phase ability (E) and locks Static Mirage. April 22 hotfix: mask can now be taken off (Mask Off: press Q again, reduces cooldown based on remaining duration). May 12, 2026 patch: max cooldown increased from 30s to 45s. Phase

Phase through soft obstacles; no CD (post May 12); -30 timer drain; max depth 14; applies 5s Slowness

While V.A.N.N.I. Mask is active, press E to dash through any highlighted obstacle within range. Costs mask meter per use (timer drain reduced from -40 to -30 as of May 12 patch; max depth increased from 12 to 14). Grants Slowness for 5 seconds after phasing. Developer clarification: works on boxes, debris, crates — NOT walls, killers, or exit gates (Wyvern 2026-04-21 11:26). Apr 22 hotfix: slowness duration decreased by 35% (was ~7.7s → now 5s). Static Mirage

Deploys 60s tesla field (post May 12; was 20s); Slowness + Dazed on killer; destroyable in 1 hit

Press E (when mask is off) to deploy a tesla shield at your location. The shield applies Slowness and Dazed debuffs to any killer that enters its range. May 12, 2026 patch: antenna lifespan greatly increased from 20s to 60s. Can be destroyed by a single M1 hit from the killer. Fixer Upper (Passive)

Faster objective completion (passive)
