Bite by Night is an asymmetrical survival horror game on Roblox, inspired by Five Nights at Freddy's (FNAF) and Dead by Daylight. One player takes the role of a Killer (an animatronic), while up to four Survivors (technicians) must complete tasks and survive until 6 AM to escape. The game was created by the studio behind the Roblox group 'totally not secret games', led by developers OzelBlox and BlueRev.

Yes, it is completely free to play on Roblox. You can access the game on PC, Mobile, and Console at no cost. Optional purchases include the VIP Pass (299 Robux, grants 1.5x Scrap earnings) and cosmetic items, but all gameplay content including Killers and Survivors can be unlocked by earning Scraps through normal gameplay.

Each match features a 4v1 format: 4 Survivors versus 1 Killer. The Killer is randomly selected at the start of each round from all connected players.

DSD (Decreased Stamina Drain) was a system that reduced how fast a Killer's stamina depleted during a chase. As of the May 12, 2026 patch, major DSD aspects have been removed and replaced with increased killer stamina as a baseline. DSD now scales with distance rather than chase time. This effectively delivers the community-voted 'no-DSD trial' that 84% of players supported in the April 30 polls. Historical note: The April 21 update introduced Situational DSD (+2.2/s in chase, capped at 60%, resets out of chase), followed by a growth rate nerf on April 27 and partial revert on May 4. The April 30 polls showed strong community preference for stamina-based balance over DSD mechanics.
